Gayle Talks about importance of restraining spending…

 As property values doubled and even tripled in the past five years, city and county commissioners should have cut their property tax rates and allowed home and business owners to keep more money, state lawmakers from the Treasure Coast said.

“I think when you have more than a 100 percent increase in five years and you spend it all, I don’t know many families who have had that kind of increase, and I’m not sure that’s being so prudent,” said state Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart.
